Dr Leanne Morgan, Clinical Psychologist based in Basingstoke, Hampshire

My Clinical Experience

I have been providing psychological therapy since 2017 across the NHS, charitable, and private sectors. My experience to date has allowed me to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals (predominantly with males and the Ministry of Defence), Crisis Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, Military Veteran Specific Mental Health Services, Specialist Trauma Services, Care Homes (including for older adults, dementia patients, and Looked After Children), and universities.

Throughout my work, I’ve supported individuals dealing with a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, psychosis, drug and alcohol difficulties, emotional dysregulation, self-criticism, stress, low mood, PTSD, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. I have specific expertise in working with military populations—both active service members and veterans—as well as individuals facing trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. I specialise in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) approaches, though my expertise spans across a variety of therapeutic modalities which can be delivered either face-to-face or virtually.

My experience working across diverse areas of mental health has deeply enriched my practice, allowing me to grow as a psychologist with a more compassionate and nuanced understanding of human suffering. It has also strengthened my ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet each client’s unique needs, effectively supporting them in achieving their therapeutic goals.

A bit more about me

Although I declare myself as a “Hampshire-based” Clinical Psychologist, I take much pride in being born and bred in the Channel Islands and consequently take much solace in being by the sea and within nature. I left the small island life when I was a teenager to gain more experience and have consequently lived, studied, and worked up North, in London, and have gradually made my way back down South where I’m now based in Hampshire. Although I no longer live in Jersey, I still call it home and it’s hugely shaped who I am as well as my interest in military and military mental health. Besides psychology, I enjoy exercise ranging from morning work outs, walking in the nature and yoga. I also enjoy exploring new places, adrenaline based experiences, seeing friends, and taking time out to relax.
